History of The Hogan

  • We are Mud Creek Hogan Trading Post, the oldest operating trading post in Southwest Colorado. Built in the early 60’s by the Navajo’s for Mrs. Wilda Brimhall after her husband passed away. The Navajo lived in the small wooden hogan while they built the store and the little hogan still stands today.

We still operate as a traditional trading post to this day. Local Native Americans bring their items in almost daily for sale or trade. We have a great selection of museum quality handmade rugs, jewelry, weapons, art, and too much more to list.
